Renwick School’s Year 7/8 young leaders are running real businesses — starting with just $20 each and turning community ideas into products for sale!
At our recent staff hui, we were treated to a fantastic presentation from two of our young leaders teams, who shared the journeys they’ve been on to create and launch their own businesses.
Each team of 3–5 students received $20 as seed funding to get started. The money is repaid back, with any remaining proceeds going towards camp costs — so there’s real accountability built in from the start!
The teams walked us through the process: identifying a business idea, tapping into the community for support, producing their product, and then selling to the wider community. One team even created their own branded t-shirts — complete with a great sales pitch to match!
