Mountain bike club gifts time to bike tracks.
On Friday 23 June the mountain bike club group travelled to give back to Marlborough Mountain bike club. What a fantastic display of learning the staff and parents were treated too as Maia whanau shared the masks they had made that aligned to a festival they had been learning about. Whilst visiting the table tennis session, I came across Peggy and Jack having a play-off. The competition was fairly equal as the audience cheered the two on. Phineas has been growing his hair for some time and today was the day he had it cut off. His hair is going to be used in a wig for cancer patients. I was fortunate today to join the tamariki, kaiako, Kaiawhinia and Whanau of Te På Wånanga as we were powhiried on to Waikawa Marae. Tuesday 28 Feb a team of energised Renwick Y3/4 students played against Witherlea, Riverlands and Fairhall schools in cricket. The team won four games out of five, growing in confidence, skill and success as the day went on. All five classrooms had the opportunity to visit Bridge Valley, Nelson, to start the year. Camps at the start of a year are a great way to generate new friendship, get to know others in your class/whanau group and for staff to do the same. We were treated to an outstanding performance from the Renwick School and Te Pā Wānanga at the local Taiopenga held at Marlborough Girls College.
