Acclaimed NZ author Ruth Paul visited Renwick School and had the whole school captivated — her energy, storytelling, and creativity were absolutely infectious.
On Thursday 4 June we were thrilled to welcome Ruth Paul to our school. Ruth is such an inspiration, particularly when she brought one of her stories to life through drama and storytelling. The whole school was completely captured — the energy in the room was infectious!
Following morning tea, Ruth led a writing workshop with students. The activity began with each student creating a ‘scribble picture’, which was then passed to the next child to transform into a character. That character became the foundation of an original narrative. The imagination and collective creativity on display was truly inspiring — and we can only hope some of those stories get finished and published one day!
Thank you Ruth — you are a true inspiration, and New Zealand is very lucky to have you as an author.
