Te Pā Wānanga Kapa Haka Performance 2022

September 21, 2022

Renwick School was treated to an outstanding kapa haka performance from our tamariki at Te Pā Wānanga — fresh from competing against 10 teams at the festival in Whakatū and bringing home some impressive results!

On Wednesday 21 September, our kura was treated to a wonderful performance from our tamariki at Te Pā Wānanga, who shared the kapa haka they performed at the recent festival in Whakatū (Nelson).

Competing against 10 teams, the group achieved some outstanding results:

  • 3rd — Whakawātea (the final item of a traditional performing arts competition, during which the performing group retreats from the stage)
  • 2nd equal — Uniform
  • 3rd — Mita o te reo (rhythm, intonation, pronunciation and sound of language — accent, diction, elocution, dialect and register)

A tremendous effort and a result to be very proud of.

I would like to acknowledge the kaiako and whānau for the hours of dedication and support given to this performance. Your commitment has made this all possible — tino pai koutou katoa!
