Sunshine, whānau, sausages, and some seriously impressive running — Renwick School’s 2024 Cross Country Day was a fantastic celebration of athleticism and community spirit.
What a stunning day of athleticism, whānau support, and sunshine we had for our 2024 Cross Country Day! The frost quickly thawed as the sun came out and stayed with us all day, making for a wonderful atmosphere. The beautifully decorated cupcakes, sizzling sausages, and coffee on offer made it an even more enjoyable occasion for everyone watching and cheering on our students.
It was great to see so many students challenge themselves by entering the competitive race. Running isn’t for everyone, and that makes the commitment shown by those who lined up even more admirable. We also included the social run again this year to encourage more students to take part — and it’s pleasing to see participation growing. We’d still love to see even more students running in their year group races, so keep it up!
Congratulations to all place-getters — the training and dedication you’ve put in was clearly on show. The top five Year 5–8 students will represent Renwick School at the inter-school cross country event on Tuesday 30 July at Wither Hills. Please keep up your training over the holiday break — we’re cheering for you!
First, second, and third place-getters will be recognised at assembly on the last day of Term 2, 2024.
