“We are learning and we’re not even in the classroom!” — one student summed up Friday Clubs perfectly as Renwick School launched an exciting new afternoon of cross-year group activities for Term 3.
Friday Clubs got off to a flying start with sunshine, smiles, and a whole lot of excitement! Students from Year 3–8 came together to learn alongside new classmates and teachers in a range of clubs they chose for themselves.
Our teachers put their heads together to create the following clubs for the first five weeks of Term 3: Art, Crafts Pacifica, Kapa Haka, STEM (Science & Technology), Knitting & Crochet, Enviro, German, and Mountain Biking.
The quote of the afternoon came from a student out on the mountain bikes — “We are learning and we’re not even in the classroom!” — and that really says it all. Friday Clubs is about getting students engaged in activities they’re genuinely excited about, while exploring new skills and interests both in and beyond the school grounds.
