Renwick School’s Lego Club is much more than just building — it’s a powerful programme developing teamwork, communication, creativity, and problem-solving in small groups of students.
Lego Club at Renwick School is a fantastic programme designed to strengthen and develop social and communication skills through collaborative building. Each group of three students works together, with every member taking on a specific role:
- Builder — constructs the Lego piece
- Supplier — finds and provides the correct piece to the Builder
- Engineer — reads the instructions and directs the Supplier
Every student rotates through each role during the session, giving everyone the experience of leading, supporting, and building.
The benefits of Lego Club are wide-ranging — teamwork, turn-taking, positive communication, creativity, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and self-belief, to name just a few. Classroom teachers select groups of three students to participate, with each group typically running for 5–10 weeks at one 30-minute session per week.
