Music Festival 2024

Renwick School’s choir took to the stage at ASB Stadium in front of a sell-out crowd, delivering an unforgettable performance full of energy, enthusiasm, and excellence.

Thursday 19 September saw our very talented Renwick School choir perform at ASB Stadium to a sell-out crowd. The energy, enthusiasm, and excellence demonstrated by every student was a true reflection of the time and commitment they have put in. Well done to everyone involved!

A huge thank you to our dancers, small group soloists, and those in smaller roles for the extra effort you gave to make the show even more special. A particular mention to the amazing Mrs Mac, who took us all back to the 80s with an unforgettable rendition of FAME — an absolute highlight of the night.

Stage manager Lindy Knowles told the students their efforts and performance were outstanding — equal to or better than the other two nights. High praise indeed!

A special thanks also to Ainsley, Mrs Mac, and Bec for their support of the choir, and to Liz McKay (Creative Kids) and Rose Platencamp (Stage Lab) who directed the show so brilliantly. Our choir looks forward to performing again at assembly this week.

About the show: Marlborough Primary Schools presented a hilarious romp into the world of preparing and performing for a School-o-Vision Song contest — peeking behind the scenes at choir leaders, parents, and performers, and what happens when things don’t always go to plan! Set against the backdrop of nearly 70 years of Eurovision, from the Swinging 60s to the Roaring 80s, the 2024 theme of “Uniting by Music” made for a fabulous, feel-good evening all round.
